Biology Boost
PLEASE NOTE: This spring session is only open to those who have taken fall and winter sessions. However, if you are in at least seventh grade and have been studying biology already this year in another program, please contact Ms. Divis for possible permission to enroll. Thanks!
Divis Educational Services offers an incredibly rich journey into the beautiful and fascinating living world--including our place in it! We'll explore all major biological concepts, including cell structure and chemistry (the first topic we'll address), classification, body systems, genetics, mechanisms of evolution, ecology, and the role of ethics. The learning approach will be very hands-on and inquiry-based. We'll utilize LABS--models, demonstrations, simulations, dissections, and longer-term experiments--to foster scientific thinking and process skills. Participants will build a "field guide" portfolio of work and reflections.
Please bring a sack lunch and drink.
