THIS SESSION IS FOR AGES 12+

This session is suitable for consideration as high school history/social science credit. Participants must be able to read and write independently and demonstrate budding critical thinking skills.

Humanities is the study of culture, especially through literature, history, art, music, and philosophy. Divis Educational Services provides an opportunity for participants to increase skill in reading various genres (at times in audio format) and writing for a variety of purposes through the context of history. We'll take a chronological journey through highlights of human history through the Middle Ages and the Renaissance using simulations, role play, demonstrations, literature, journaling, library research, and fine art explorations. Participants will create a portfolio of work and reflections.

We will also have at least one classic novel study that may loosely relate to the overall historic theme.

This class is part #1 of four parts, running from September through October (skipping Oct. 7 for fall break)

Participants bring a sack lunch and drink.
